📜
Summary

Travis King interviews Land Boss Coaching client Bryan Lark (of Zeteo Land) as Bryan shares his journey from ministry to successful land investing, emphasizing simplicity, focus, and the importance of building a team. Discover how he turned small land deals into profitable ventures and the mindset shifts that fueled his growth.

💣Value Bombs

💣Simple beats sophisticated when the system is ordinary & repeatable. Brian’s edge is not unusual brilliance. It is the discipline to choose a model simple enough that he can actually execute it without getting lost. Complexity is often a tax on people who do not have the bandwidth to manage it.

💣Your superpower is the business model filter. Copying someone else’s model without copying their temperament is a fast path to burnout. Sustainable success comes from matching the business to the person, not the other way around.

💣Proof of concept changes risk tolerance more than confidence does. Brian did not scale because he became more optimistic. He scaled because each win reduced the perceived risk of the next move. Early success creates permission to think bigger. After the first hunting property sold well, he reinvested profits into a second, then a third, each time with more conviction and slightly more ambition.

💣Cheap labor can hide a structural revenue problem. Offshoring is not always efficiency - sometimes it is avoidance. If a business only works because labor is cheap, it may be under-earning for the level of complexity it is taking on. Hiring lower-cost help can let a business stay small-minded longer than it should. Choosing higher-quality onshore roles forces the business to generate enough value to justify its own structure. Brian moved toward US-based key hires once the business could support them. That shift did not just improve communication and quality - it pushed the business toward larger, healthier deals.
